Default Luongo to Start vs. Norway

Hmmmn.

I'd prefer Brodeur's puckhandling . . .

Not surprising. Let the backup have a nothing opponent, then let the starter get into the groove.

Well, since the Swiss are probably tougher than the Norwegians, I'd rather have Marty take the harder matchup

You play your backup against weak opponents.

Brodeur probably needs a rest, as he has started all but one of the last ~35 games, and just played back-to-back Friday/Saturday.

I figured it would have gone Brodeur vs Norway, Luongo vs Switzerland and then Brodeur vs USA. Now it seems Luongo vs Norway, Brodeur vs Switzerland and then Brodeur vs USA.

Great for Roberto. He's been the better goalie (Stat wise) of the three since the new year (At least going into Saturdays game). I'm excited to see him playing for our country, even if he just gets the one game. I'm not sure why people seem to be so down on him. He's a Canadian first, and a Vancouver Canuck second. Perhaps its time to let go of these petty rivalries for a couple weeks, and just focus on cheering on our great Canadian athletes that are representing All of us, on a global stage.. It's what im doing, and ive been enjoying myself imensely.

I'm disappointed I'll have to hear the lou chants for all the routine saves he makes. Hopefully Norway only managed a half dozen shots.

Good, get the hype of him playing out of the way early. Then Marty can take over.

I agree. I cheer for the front of the jersey, not the back.

What kind of Oiler fan are you?

Do you think Liverpool fans cheer for Rooney when he plays for England?

As long as he doesn't put on the theatrics when somebody brushes up against him, it should be fine.

Lol. Well if Luongo plays lights out and steals the starting job from Brodeur (which I don't think will happen) then i'd be all for it as long as Canada wins gold. I don't care who is in net as long as we win gold.

it might be hard to show "lights out" against Norway though.

its more so if Brodeur sucks against Switzerland

Yeah and it would be hard to suck against Switzerland too. 3rd game against USA is the real test for the goalies.
