Default Bioshock 2

I wish I could take a week off work starting Tuesday, because this is gonna be an awesome game. Not sure what others think, but the first Bioshock was one of the greatest game ever released IMO. Initial reviews have been very good, but I guess we'll see if it lives up to the original.

I will be playing it on 360.

Honestly, I got half of the way though Bioshock as said to myself "this is one of the most boring games ever." It hought it was way overhyped. I didn't see the attraction.

i have to agree. pretty much forced myself to finish the game to feel like i didn't waste my money. didn't understand the hype for it, and it got tiring wandering around the way too dark environments Doom 3 had the same issue, though at least they gave you a flashlight. game designers have to learn that dark environments are a crutch for horror games, not innovation

Except Bioshock is just about unanimously stated as a masterpiece of game design. They didn't use dark environments as an "innovation," they used it to set the mood, which beats the mood of just about any other game out there hands down.

A fantastic game. Nay, a fantastic piece of art; one that comes as close to putting video games into that realm as anything I've seen before.

I liked it. Way too easy, even on difficult, but it was fun.

I already have it pre-ordered and ready to download on Steam. I even bought a 4-Pack and sold the three other copies to fellow CPers. The first was one of those games I didn't buy until it dropped to about $30 and when I did play it I liked it. I'm looking forward to the sequel.

Never played Bioshock, not gonna buy this one for a bit even though the reviews are good. Got lots of ME2 to get through still, and going to the Olympics for 3 weeks.

I am getting Dante's Inferno on Tuesday, but I bought Bioshock 2 for $52 shipped off eBay, so I'll hopefully get it later in the week.

I liked the Ayn Rand setting. But really Bioshock was just another game to me. I finished it, it caused me a lot of frustration.

I'll hit up Bioshock 2 when it drops in price. Nothing I'm about to rush out for.

Bioshock is my favorite game of this generation. Nothings beats the style and atmosphere of the game.

I'm tired of all these "war" shooters. It was unique, and had a little RPG elements to it.

Can't wait to go back to Rapture Tuesday.

Amazing art design in that game. Really immersive one of the best FPS' ever. Don't get the hate for it on this board.

I am intrigued by the multiplayer. It is old school TDM (no stupid kill streaks, etc.), with a Big Daddy in the middle, combined with the awesome weapons of Bioshock and plasmids, I can't wait to give it a try. Something unique for once, hopefully.

Picked it up today and played it for about an hour... seems great so far, but will have to play a bit more before I decide. Seems very similar to the first so far.

Played the 1st one and loved it. Well deserving of game of the year. To those who found it boring and didn't get into it...well l don't think that you took the time to appreciate the level design and thought process that went into it. Of course it wasn't for everyone, but I myself am pretty hardcore when it comes to level design and atmosphere. Bioshock succeeded in both regards. #2 should be just as good.

And they made the same dumb thing they did with the first one.. if you have a wide screen, it doesn't show you more like it should, it cuts the top and bottom off of a 4:3 ratio screen and makes it bigger, showing you LESS!

They said they'll issue a patch, but jeez, it wasn't like a bazillion people didn't complain about it the first time. No one in a single design meeting said "oh yeah, make sure and get widescreen right"?

Yeah I'm just not feeling it with this game for some reason.

I just started numero 2 and it isn't quite the same as the first. The wonder and amazement part 1 gave me when I started playing is gone. I am sure 2 will be good, but there is less wow factor. I also noticed the graphics are not that sharp.

I know both games were developed by different studios (although many members from the old studio joined the new), I find it pathetic that a sequel has worse graphics than its predecessor. Look at ME2, the graphics are exponentially better than the first and a lot of members of their dev. team are new.

Regardless, I am excited to play it, when my copy comes this week. Although AVP also comes out Tuesday and I have only played an hour into Dante's Inferno.
