Hi there,
I had downloaded some songs from Puretracks and tried to transfer them to my MP3 player. When I try to play them it's as if the file doesn't exist on my MP3 and it says DRM WMA on the screen. What does this stand for? The files I transferred from CD's work just fine.

What portable devices will my Bonfire downloads play on?

Music files purchased from Bonfire will play on a variety of portable Windows Media compatible devices including Windows CE, and many popular mp3 players. Ask your vendor for details on your portable device. Supported portable devices include (but are not limited to):

Creative Rio
NOMAD Jukebox Zen 60GB Cali
NOMAD Jukebox Zen 20GB Nitrous
NOMAD Jukebox Zen NX 20GB Sport
NOMAD Jukebox Zen NX 30GB

my suggestion is convert it to mp3. You can convert itunes to mp3.... i buy the songs and convert them and then transfer to my mp3 player.

You have to record through your soundcard to convert them, it is kinda tricky and your soundcard has to support it, or else you have to run a cable on the outside of the computer from out to in.

And FYI for all you iRiver owners out there, if ever your product stops working, don't expect any help from customer support. They just closed my claim after a month without a response.

Do the files play on your computer? If so it means you've acquired the liscences properly and, since irivers play wma files, you should have no problems.

Did you follow the instructions on Puretracks help site?:

To transfer your Puretracks music downloads to an approved portable device, you will need to open Windows Media Player. Once the player is open, follow these steps to complete your burn:

Click Copy to CD or Device or on the File menu, point to Copy, and then click Copy to Portable Device.

In the Items to Copy pane, in the drop-down list, click the playlist, category, or other item that you want to copy.

Clear the check boxes next to any files you do not want to copy.

In the Items on Device pane, in the drop-down list, click the device that you want to copy files to.

Click the Copy button.

The Player verifies that there is sufficient storage space on the device to copy the selected files. If there is sufficient space, the files are converted (if necessary) and copied to the portable device.

Repeat steps 2-5 for any other items that you want to copy to your portable device.
For additional information and troubleshooting procedures, press F1 from inside Windows Media Player

If that doesn't work, e-mail Puretracks.

They play on my computer. I didn't follow the instructions you listed though. I went into the I-River software, located the files from my computer and clicked and dragged them to my player. I'll try the ones you listed when I get home. Thanks!
