Default Booking flights online

For those of you that book flights online, which site do you use?? Travelocity, Expedia, Priceline, the airlines official site?

I used to use expedia but have recently switched to priceline. It seemed like expedia had a hidden agenda. Whenever I booked a flight to the US they always had Delta flights at the top of the list, even when there were cheaper alternatives on priceline

i tend to use priceline the most but i always check around before booking. ie: This year is the first time in years that I didn't use them as I found it cheaper to go through my TD Travel Center. (and the first time in years that i'm leaving from Calgary and not through Spokane)

I've only left from YVR a couple of times. Its just way too expensive. Glad to hear I'm not the only one that travels to the US before flying out. I usually save more than half on flight costs flying out of Sea-Tac instead.

How long of a drive is it to Spokane from Calgary? It took me a good 8 hours of straight driving to get there from Van.

I don't book often, but when I look I check the "Confessios of a YYC Travel Junkie" http://forum.calgarypuck.com/showthread.php?t=74271 then cross reference what I find there, and cymden's advice and research.

It's a 7hr-8hr drive - it all depends what route you take. My wife and I have taken 3 different routes - one is about an hour faster but so boring. So we explore.

And your completely right about the cost. We usually fly to Orlando or Miami and leaving from Spokane we save more than half easily. This time we are off to L.A. and the cost difference was about $30/person so it's out of YYC this time. (and with a 1yr old we are quite happy with this decision)

kayak.com, farechase.yahoo.com etc are all great to find flights. Then I usually check with the airlines site as sometimes the Canadian site is cheaper than it's US counterpart, and often you can't book on the US site anyway.

Sign up for WestJet and Air Canada travel mail, you can jump on cheap flights as they happen. Often times a sale will only be for a day, but it's good to be in the loop about it.
