No worries, found a quote that was half as much as every other glass shop I called (I wont name names, I guess). I take it in there and they start working on it. Get a phone call an hour later. They misquoted me the wrong replacement glass and magically their quote doubled.
I told them to pump sand, but now I am still left with a hole in the back window of my truck!
So where do you go to get your glass?

Moore's auto glass - they've done two windshields for me and have been about 20-30% cheaper than the big chain glass places.

I don't recall the name, but I last used a place on Horton Rd SW by Southland drive. Once again they were about 20% less than anywhere else, did a good job, and the windshield to be asstrong as the original one.

Cal Alta Glass 403-216-3170. They have a south and north location they are great to deal with and they are usually cheaper.

Horton Auto Body? They do glass? Or another place?
If it's Horton Auto Body, NO NO NO NO NO NO NO.
Been a customer of there's for years on minor repairs, and the last repair a few months back they royally screwed me. DO NOT RECCOMEND them any longer, something has changed for the worse.
That being said, not to derail at all, but I do need a new body shop- any ideas of where does good work?
As for glass, I've always just taken it to Speedy Glass on Macleod and 99th Ave. You know, the one by Mr. Big & Tall and the Adult Source.

I have been twice to Cal Alta Glass on Horton Road (just off Southland) and I have had exemplary service.

Negative- it was a glass shop; a place that only does glass. If I had a yellow pages in front of me I'd look it up.
(Edit- might be Cal Alta Glass.)

I used to recommend them as well...
I don't want to get into it too much, because there is still repair needed on my car for stuff I've already paid them to do- ie/ put it back together when they took it appart to repair it... and they are being ######s about helping me out.
Nice people working in the front, but apparently not to good people in the back. The people in the front are NOT willing to take responsibility for what has happened. Bad customer service to solve my issues, and they don't care about solving the problem. I don't know if they've had ownership/management changes in the last 2 years since I've been there last, but I won't be going back.

Everyone thinks "their guy" is the best guy for stuff like this. Being in the auto industry I base my opinions more on industry reputation. Locally one of the best respected glaziers is Kings Glass. Most dealerships use them for their combination of excellent quality work and fair price.
