@$@!$ So I lost my wedding ring in the snow
Long story short, I went to a gas station to fill up my washer fluid. In the process of doing said duty, my hands got filthy. I found a nice snowbank to clean my hands in, washed em up and was on my way. I got 5 mins down the road and noticed my ring was gone.
Went back and immediately checked when I put my hands in the snow, and wasnt there. I expanded my search, nothing. Looked everywhere. It's so mucky and slushy now that everything's melted, I can't see a thing. I should note that I may have shook my hands to get residual snow off my hands... who knows.
Went to home hardware, got some metal mesh and began shovelling snow into the mesh and sift... no luck. Guys at HH didn't sound too confident that a metal detector would detect white gold...
Other than waiting for the snow to melt, any other suggestions?

Check your home insurance policy, it is usually covered under contents insurance.
But, depending on the value of your ring and the deductable, it might not be worth making a claim?

Losing the wedding ring wasn't the mistake, getting married in the first place was.
Just kidding.
Real response: Are you sure you had it on when you went to wash your hands in the snow? Maybe you took it off somewhere else, and you only noticed after you washed your hands? Check any other places you may have left it. Bathroom sink at home, nightstand, office bathroom.
Other than that, I can't really think of anything you can do except for going back to the gas station and continuing your search.
Sorry to hear about the ring dude.

Perhaps my associate could be of assistance..
If it isn't in the snow that you checked 23432 times I would start trying to think of other places near by to look at. I find that when I lose something you can convince yourself it is where it actually isn't just by thinking this is where you HAD to of left it. Most often it is in another spot entirely.

Get a replacement ring before your wife finds out.
Seriously, my wife lost both her wedding ring and her engagement ring after we were married for two years. It was pretty devastating for her and somewhat infuriating for me. Some momentos are hard to replace.

Is it a tiffany's white gold, diamond encrusted ring? If so, show me where you lost it!

When you're wife swings the golf club at you time your duck turn it into a forward roll and run for the car.

She already knows. She's not mad at all, it's not like I did it on purpose..
And, it's not about the money, really. I know I can replace it, but not with a ring from our wedding day. More of a sentimental loss than anything.

My brother in law lost his in the Pacific Ocean. I think you have about the same chance as he did of recovering it.
I'd leave a description of it at the gas station, maybe stick up some posters in the direct vicinity of it.

If it's a half decent metal detector, it will find gold.

On a related note, I found this awesome ring when I went to fill up my car last night! What are the odds?

Lost it in the snowbank, eh? Story sounds pretty fishy to me...
j/k. Hope you are able to find it! I agree with previous posters who've suggested looking in some other spots where you may have taken it off. And if/when you do find it, maybe get it taken down 1/2 a size so it doesn't slip off as easily.

So you took it off last night when you and the boys went to Cowboys? You got so hammered you forgot where you put it? Check your small front jean pocket
You're welcome

Good luck finding the ring. I left mine in the dressing room at the soccer centre after a game once. I usually keep it on for games as it is just a band and isn't a danger to anyone, but some refs are picky.
So I tucked it into my bag and after the game I put it on the bench in the dressing room and forgot to put it on. Noticed the next day and frantically called a few of the guys who were still in there when I left. Called the soccer centre and they had nothing. Decided to drive over there and talk in person about it and someone overheard, said that one of the workers mentioned finding one and tucked it into a drawer. I described it, it matched.
I don't think that an object is of much importance in the big picture of a marriage, even something as symbolic as the wedding ring. Being human means that sometimes things like this might happen, and it doesn't change your relationship. But I sure felt badly for forgetting it. I hope that you have a good update for us!!!

Was it in the middle of a pile of extension cords?

Stupid hands changing size... When my hands are warm I can't get my ring off unless I lube it up. When my hands are cold it slips right off... a couple times when I was washing cold hands with cold water it slipped off so I totally see this happening.
Sorry to hear it man. I get sentimentally attached to things of that significance too, and it can be heart wrenching. Good luck buddy.
