Torrent Sources?
Hi Guys,
I usually use usenet to get my non-copyrighted material, such as indy movies and music, however I am finding more and more that I can't find the odd stuff I am looking for on usenet.
What's the defacto torrent source these days? I was never a big torrent guy, so I am just not sure what to use for my completely legal, non-copywrite infringing torrent needs - Suggestions?

Mininova.org has gone completely legal, non-copywrite infringing.
Although I am completely lost and have no idea what the stuff is when I get search results.

torrents are really crappy now unless you are a member of a private site. I had a membership, but I went inactive for too long and now it is gone.

I never have a problem finding what I'm after, and I use a public site.

There actually are people who use *edit* most torrent sites who think it is completely legal? or is this a strange spam account?

Just a heads up but even mentioning Torrent sites like the one you guys mentioned is not cool on CP.
Even using abbreviations aren't cool. I'm no mod, I'm just telling you based on personal experience (ie. infractions).

I thought in Canada, downloading this type of material was not illegal, how ever, uploading it was illegal.

The only thing there is a provision for in Canadian copyright law for copying is MUSIC! Movies, games, pr0n, all of that is illegal, upload or download.
So yeah, no mentioning of specific sites to get that kind of stuff, even music because we have a large # of American visitors.

Technically torrent "Filesharing" can be no different than me sending you a copy of a spreadsheet I make for a hockey pool for example.
But once you start dealing with things that are copyrighted... Welcome to the internet grey area. (less grey in the rest of the world)
