LF: Cheap Car <$2500

Looking for a buddy. His timing belt snapped on his 01 Pontiac so he's looking to pick up something to get him through the winter.
He's not much of a car guy so brand is not important.
Just a student like myself, so his budget is pretty low.
Let me know of anything under $2500 you guys know of.

My dad wants to get rid of his '92 Pontiac Transport. Its still in pretty good condition, some rusts and stuff on the top roof but all in all, it still looks like what a used car should look.

We managed to revive the engine in it after its been sitting in our grandparents garage for 5+ years, and the engine sounds like it can last for at leat 5-10 more years if you take good care of it. Mileage on it is 174320km, so it hasn't been used a whole lot.

Only problem with the Van is the Driver's side door. You can open the door but with a bit of muscle power(handles a little loose), you just can't open it with the key on the drivers side. All it really needs is a tuneup and fresh new tires and it should get you through winter.

Asking price for it is around $500 for the car, its pretty damn cheap for a van that sounds like it can last longer than it should. Van's probably a bit too big for your buddy through. This picture is similar to what we have. If your buddy is interested, PM me and we will set up a time so he can take a look at it.

tell your buddy to check out kijiji... you could easily find a car for under 2500 there.
