Finally it is open. Now in 6 years it'll be the second biggest, there is already a company planning on building one bigger, they were just waiting for these guys to finish so they'd know the exact height to beat.
That whole city will be a relic and museum of excess gone amok.
Yeah. Dubai's economy is screwed big time. At one point they had something like 20% of all the building cranes *in the world* in that city. Now many buildings are either left incomplete, falling apart, or both. It's too bad, because that is one beautiful skyscraper.

It may be the tallest, but that is one ugly looking building. I'm no architect nor am I an engineer, so I'm guessing to build it that high, they had to sacrifice the aesthetics in order to make it functional.
Man, I'd piss my pants if I were up that high. It took me 3 weeks of getting use to the Tower's height when I started working up there. Everyday, I'd head up to the glass floor window to try and overcome my fear, it somewhat worked, but now that I haven't been there for a half a year, I'd probably say I'm back to fearing it.

As of this point, any tower that was supposed to be taller is dead in the water.

Best way to get over the fear of very high heights is to remember 50ft = 1500ft. the end result is the same if you fall.
