I see white text!
Okay, so I just looked at Ford Prefect's sig and I noticed you can actually read white text without highlighting it! But then when you look at it closely, it disappears. It's really trippy. Can anyone else see white text? Anyone want to argue that they are the same white and I'm going completely insane? It's hard to actually read it, but you can see that there's something there. The text seems to me like it's just a bit whiter and brighter than the background.
It's easiest with bigger text.
Can you tell which line has lower case letters, and which has upper case? No highlighting!

Can you read this?

Yeah, I rarely miss out on white text (maybe wont be able to read it, but notice something's there) so maybe my tilt on my laptop is a bit more than others.
If you tilt it right, the Oilers Suck becomes clear as day, but the Seb in SebC's avatar disappears into the black.

I can see the first large one, but not any of the other ones. The text white and the background white are probably slightly off from each other.

Completely depends on your monitor and display settings.
I guess the white text is not the same hexidecimal color as the background on CP.

Yeah the background colour isn't completely white, while the white text is.
I can see it on my new monitor.

The real question is why would you bother putting something like "CANUCKS STINK!" and "HAHA STUPID OILERS!" in white text...neither are a secret, and both are well known and commonly shared 'opinions'....errr...(ACTUALLY THEY ARE FACTS), and nobody likes them.

There's only 3 ways you can see white text without highlighting it.
- Your monitor setting are way off
- Your monitor is crap
- You aren't human

I can see "Canucks Stink" w/o tilting my head or tilting my laptop screen too much.

The background colour of the page is actually #FAFAFA, so you can perfectly hide your "white text" by wrapping it in these tags: [ color="#FAFAFA" ][ /color ] removing the spaces)
If you're so inclined.

Keep in mind at normal size it's incredibly hard to see. Monitor settings I can believe would be a factor - but wouldn't it be a bad monitor where you CAN NOT see the white text at all? Wouldn't a bad monitor clip the background to pure white?
I don't know much about colour management and haven't calibrated my monitor, and I had a fealing I should've put this in tech talk because it would end up being about monitors. Tilting doesn't do much for me though.

My new monitor is better quality and calibrated, and I can see the difference; they are two different colours so being able to see them as slightly different is a good thing.
