Default Converting HD Camcorder to...ummm...something...

I bought a new JVC HD camcorder. In the settings it says if I record in the highest quality I can't copy to a CD to view it. Basically I would like to know of a way to record in HD and then copy it to SOMETHING so that I can send video through snail mail of my new baby for my parents to see.

We live far apart so it would be nice to show them their grandson.

What are my options?

Will saving files to a USB stick work? Will they be able to view it on their computer?

Help Please.

Also, if your parents have a computer you could upload the video for them to see.

Is that an option?

You could upload them to YouTube.

To make them smaller and emailable, they would probably need to be re-rendered to a smaller resolution in a program such as Premier. PM me if you'd like some help.

Congrats, BTW.

What type of format does it record in?

You could use a program like Picasa to import your videos, and easily either upload them to the web (Google Video) or youtube.

I live in Nunavut and my folks live in Newfoundland. The internet in Nunavut is comparable to 28K dial-up so uploading video files is really not an option. Sucks.

I use a mac and they use a PC. I am planning to buy an external hard drive to save all my video's too so I don't know if his creates even more problems.

How about DVD, rather than CD? I'm assuming that CD doesn't work because of filesize, but you should be able to jam lots of video onto a DVD.

Congrats on the kid. Don't let him crawl around outside in sealskin jammies.

It really was very very simple to do it. A couple clicks and it was done.

Thanks for trying to help though Titan, I do appreciate it.

I wouldn't go so far as to say hero, but I am definitely taking all the credit.
