Kind of a touching story. Heard an interview on CBC radio today with the guy organizing the event and she's described as that teacher that made a difference in every student's lives. Great to see she wants to see what came of her students, and really wanted to make an impact - something all teachers should be in it for.

So, in a pre-emptive thread hi-jacking attempt, who was your Joyce Pirnak?

For me: Mrs Otto at Captain John Palliser for grades 5 & 6. Always took interest in her student's lives, was every student's friend/confidant, and was well respected too.

Mr. Lawrence, Mr. Selinger at St. Francis High School. Great guys, great teachers. Mr. Chiachia as well.

Had a lot of teachers through high school. Those are the ones that stood out as the best there.

I've had a few teachers like that. Ones that inspired me to take the path I took. Sadly, of the 4 that did so, all of them have passed away. One while he was teaching us and two which I didn't even know about until it was too late. RIP.

I don't know why though, perhaps it's just bad luck.
