You can get a public drunkenness ticket for simply being intoxicated, there's no need for ridiculous behavior. Like you I have no problem with people acting like asshats getting arrested/ticketed, but if you're just waiting for a ride tickets are overkill.

So i guess the Public Drunkenness offence is different from the US public intox laws. The public intox offense can only be issued if you are a harm to yourself or others.

So just to confirm, being drunk in public while curing cancer is okay in your books? Do you need to successfully cure it, or just try to cure it? Because if all I need to do is bring out a few lab rats when I go drinking, that's an awesome loophole.

One time while going through a checkstop, a bunch of Mad Mothers were there giving away free loot bags to drivers as they passed through. I said I had 1 beer (which I did). The officer said "okay, that's fine" and waved me on, but the Mad Mother who was approaching my car with my free loot bag heard this, scowled at me, and then walked away. I didn't get my free loot bag....Now I hate MADD.
