Enough Is Enough: Time To Pull The Plug

No, I'm not leaving again...

This season as been a disaster, and I can only chalk it up to one deal. Yes, getting the best player in the NHL is awesome, and something that everyone in the league should be on the hunt for.

FAIL.

While Ovechkin has found his scoring touch, it's shades of Luongo in Quebec, and I fear it's not going to get any better for the franchise anytime soon.

So, it's time to cut ties with Ovechkin, and darn near everyone else on this roster. As always, this is not a firesale, this is not a 3 year rebuild (although building a good pipeline isn't out of the question). This is a quick fix rebuild.

I have talked to a few teams about Ovie, and have come close, but not quite there for what I want to do with this team. And if I keep him, I'll keep him, and try and stay creative with this roster.

But I can't sit back and be happy with how this season has gone.

Ovechkin should fetch you a very decent return...probably a top 4 guy, 2 first round picks and a prospect (playing off the Phaneuf rumour on the main board)
