Default Looking for a few rec hockey players

Everyone,

Our team is looking around for a few guys to play some rec hockey this winter. Our season has started, but we have about 20 games left, and I will adjust fees accordingly for anyone interested.

We're currently playing in the CAHL division B, so we're looking for guys with some decent skill. Most guys on the team range from Midget AAA (on the high end) to Bantam A on the lower end, with a few guys that just play 4 days a week. The league is fairly competitive, but it's by no means NHL. It's all mon-thurs, latest gametime is 10:30PM.

The bonus with our team however, is that we have a spot in the summer ASHL held for us. It's one of the better run leagues in the city, 30 game sched twice a week, runs mon-thurs, with the latest game time of 10:30 PM. Most fall into the 8:00 range. My company sponsors the team so we run with 12 skaters (which means LOADS of icetime) and low fees ($500).

I'm looking for serious guys here, so if you want to "spare" or play a game or two then disappear, don't bother getting in touch with me. I just got back from overseas and the reason we're short is 4 guys pulled a runner before paying, after playing the first 1/3rd of the season. Our roster is pretty small to begin with, so we're looking for a few more guys that like to get a ton of icetime.

PM me if you have more questions.

Are Calgary Rec Leagues like the ones in BC these days where players are trying to emulate Alexandre Burrows? Last week I had some loser pull my hair and scratch my freaking eye after I challenged him for cross checking me in the back.

Hahah yeah, some leagues are pretty weak. Ours is not too bad, it's one of the less chippy leagues I've been involved with. There are a few teams that are annoying to play against, but that's pretty common for any league. We're the least penalized team in the league, so our games don't get out of hand that often at all.

I've had guys making small talk with me after scoring on them, and congratulating us after we light them up for 8 goals. It's actually pretty gentleman(ish)!!

I should point out that our next game is 915 tonight up at the edge hockey school (by callaway park) , so if anyone is serious about playing with us you can get a game in this evening.

Dues work out to $400 for 20 games.

Email me at mhirving@foothillssteel.ca or pm me here.
