Huge news for old school stampede and wwf fans

According to a WWE source who is close to the situation, Bret Hart has signed a short-term talent contract with WWE. Dave Meltzer is reporting that contract runs from January 1st to April 10th 2010. This means Hart could very well end up being the RAW guest host on January 4th.
When asked about the contract, Bret Hart declined to comment since he doesn't want to "lie about anything." According to Meltzer, Hart wanted to keep the signing a surprise but WWE all but confirmed he was coming back with the segment on RAW this week.
Apparently, Hart had been in talks with WWE for several months now. Meltzer is also reporting that Hart will possibly wrestle one more match and has also agreed to do a storyline based on the Montreal Screwjob. For years, Hart had been strongly against doing any type of storyline in WWE based on Montreal.

Huge boost for the WWE.
Hopefully the story line involves beating Sean Michaels to death with a waffle iron and throwing HHH MacMahon down an elevator shaft.

After Denis Miller referenced him on RAW, you knew it was going to happen. Actually, since they have been using his music (RAW from Calgary), and some of the interviews I've read with the Hitman, it's not a surprise. It's a surprise he's actually going to work with WWE again, but not a surprise now... if that makes any sense?

Whatever it is they are planning, I won't be satisfied unless it culminates in Bret seriously beating the tar out Michaels smack dab in the center of the ring in Montreal.

After watching Brett's documentary about the incident in Montreal not to mention numerous interviews I have seen where he bad mouths Vince McMahon, I"m surprised he's taking it.
Although I have to say that the way the Hitman wanted to go out of the WWF, after accepting a better offer from the company's biggest rival was a little naive. Vince should have just told him straight up that it couldn't happen that way.

Interesting...
I am wondering how Bret will look or feel... Seeing him around town he still looks pretty hurting with a limp thrown in... Can the guy still duke it out (or fake it out) in the ring still?? I am doubting it... but I am not a fan of pretend sports

Against Shawn Michaels, who is still pumping out 5 star matches... no. Against Vince McMahon in a no holds barred street fight... shouldn't be a problem. Plus he's got some time between now, and Wrestlemania to get in better shape.

He's had major concussion issues, a severe stroke and had both knee's replaced recently. Plus he's 50 some years old, really doubt that he gets into the ring unless its merely to punch out Vince or Michaels
I just don't see him being able to pull out a high level match.

Kinda the point I was trying to make... don't expect a Wrestlemania 10-like performance... It's not going to be pretty, but it's going to be awesome.

Brett Hart just needs a gimmick like Ric Flair to wrestle into his 80's. Through the opponent into the turn buckle, slap him in the face with the crowd counting to 10 and yell "Whuuu!!" every 30 seconds or so.
I can envision it now. Brett is getting worked over by his opponent. When his adversary is not paying attention by show boating to the crowd, Brett hits him in the groin from behind. As the guy is crouched over, Brett gives an Irish Whip followed by a clothesline. While his opponent is on the mat, Brett gives a few random kicks to the head followed by pulling his opponent to his feet and throwing him over the top rope.
Brett slowly exits the ring to give his opponent a few more kicks to the head, followed by smashing his head into the metal steps, time keepers table, bell. All the while the ref is giving a 10 count for being out side the ring, this lasts for 8 minutes.
Somehow both Brett and his opponent get knocked out at the same time and lie outside the ring for up to 5 minutes. Slowly Brett gains conscious before his opponent. He gathers up the foe and rolls him back into the ring. Brett slowly rolls himself into the ring and pins his opponent. The ref does not see Brett pinning his opponent because he is being distracted by somebody else. Brett makes all sorts of gestures and pounds the mat himself to no avail. While this is going on Vince McMahon dives into the ring with a steel chair and smashes the Hitman over the head knocking him unconscious. Vince flips the unconscious opponent onto the KO'd Hitman and leaves the ring. At that exact moment the ref turns around and falls to the mat to give the 3 count and hands the victory to Brett's opponent.
Brett does not need to be in top physical shape to do this routine.

Thats the thing, I never thought that Flair was all that awesome of a performer. His matches compared to what the hitman did were far less about impact and difficulty and more about doing the same easy spots over and over again.
Harts style was and is far more difficult and taxing. Flair was incredibly charasmatic.
In his later years Flair was pretty much a parody of himself living off of past glories.
I have my doubts that the Hitman would even want to participate in a match if it becomes a low quality farce of his glory days.

I think if built up the right way, with the Hitman admitting week after week to not being the athlete he once was... taking the high road on McMahon's challenges week after week... then snapping, it would still go over well, and they wouldn't need to perform a 5 star match, circa 90s Hitman.
