Default CP's Official Christmas 2009 Soundtrack Thread

I did a quick search and didn't find any sort of thread like this, so I figured I'd give it a try.

What songs are absolute must-haves on your Christmas playlist/soundtrack? What songs/carols do you listen to almost non-stop over the Christmas holidays?

For me it's Christmas Bells from the RENT OBC Recording.

Honourable mention:

Fairy Tale of New York by The Pogues
Zat You, Santa Claus? by Louis Armstrong
Christmas Eve in Sarajevo by Trans-Siberian Orchestra
any cover of traditional carols that don't totally ruin the song

What about you?

Nat King Cole:

2000 Miles, Pretenders (cover, can't find original):

Fairytale Of New York, Pogues:

Here's a fun one I've always liked:

Santa Claus is Coming (In a Boogie Woogie Choo-Choo Train) by The Tractors

It is an absolute disgrace that Stephen Colbert's Christmas album hasn't been mentioned yet. I love absolutely every song sans the Toby Keith one.

I've actually been very excited to go get a tree, set it up, turn on a fire and play this album. Of particular importance:

http://www.ascap.com/press/2006/112706_xmassongs.html

With holiday tunes already on the airwaves, the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) - the first and leading U.S. Performing Rights Organization representing over 260,000 music creators and copyright owners - today announced its Top 25 most performed holiday songs for the past five years, based on performance data tracked by radio airplay monitoring service Mediaguide.

The most performed ASCAP Holiday song is "The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire)." Written by Robert Wells and the singing great, Mel Tormé, the song became a seasonal classic with the release of Nat "King" Cole's 1946 recording. The song has been covered by numerous artists, including Celine Dion, Luther Vandross, Amy Grant and James Taylor, but Cole's version remains the most played on radio today.

I have a Celtic Christmas CD set that I love. Three CD's and it has all the traditional songs done by Celtic singers as well as a CD of just Celtic christmas songs. I love it, reminds me of Christmas' from back home when I was a kid.

Another vote for A Muppet Christmas Carol soundtrack. We watch it every year. Another favorite of mine is the song from Love Actually.
