As a Jew, I say meh..... The jewish community is pretty much left alone in Calgary, and there is only an incident like this once every few years. It doesn't get a rise out of me. There are far more problems with racism in this city against visible minorities for the CPS to waste too much time trying to hunt down what is likely some stupid kids that don't know any better. North American jews are are pretty peaceful, and forgiving bunch, and won't be out for "vengeance" per se. And I am sure someone in the Synagogue has a good connection to get that sign fixed up good and cheap.

Could be something more innocuous, like some idiot teenagers trying to stir something up.

This type of thing happens every couple of years in cities across Canada. It's not the type of thing that requires an organization behind it - just a couple of morons who think they need to prove something. Saddening every time it happens though.

Do the Aryan Guard have a significant presence in Calgary (beyond that parade or whatever they had)?

I love attitudes like this. Good job, man. No sense in getting pissed off about something that isn't directly aimed at you, and that you can't really do anything about. Sometimes the best response is nothing at all. If the Jewish community were to get in the news and make a big stink about this, it'd probably lead to some other loser wannabes pulling a similar BS stunt.
A response of "meh, like we haven't been murdered by the millions before" does more to belittle them than any criminal charges ever would. And since criminal charges would be nearly impossible to get a conviction on (unles there's video evidence), chances are that these ######s will not do it again, simply because it didn't get the reaction they were hoping for. And likely, in a few years, the culprits will look back and realize how stupid their crime was.
Feels weird to condone such a passive response, since I love to rage, but in this case, I do believe you're winning by not letting it be a big deal.

I doubt it was the Aryan Guard.

More likely it was kids with too much time on their hands.

That being said, if they're caught, their parents should be on the hook for the clean-up.

Oh, and to avoid a juvenile record, these folks should probably do some volunteering for the Jewish Community.

I'm cool with it. If a kid spray paints a wall, that's vandalism. If a white-supremacist spray-paints swastika's on an ethnic minority's community building, that's different, there's an element of malicious 'hate' involved and that type of crime needs to be viewed differently, imo.

It is bizarre all the crap they have to take around the world for no good reason. On the other hand - and obviously they shouldn't have to bow down to bullies - there's a part of me that doesn't really understand why they don't walk away from the religion and just say ###### it, it's not worth it.

This happened in the same neighbourhood about 4 years ago IIRC. The odd thing about these 2 seperate instances, is Both times some of the swastikkas were reversed.

Pretty sad when you are so stupid, you can't even paint your symbol of hate correctly!

Also, this makes me suspect both were done by the same Tard(s).
