I had quite a few responses and my access to CP at night is limited right now until I get a few modem issues sorted out.

Anyway instead of replying to each PM I thought I would give a few more details and if you are still interested then I can provide every detail you may require.

It is a point system. I have a Gold Plus membership which entitles me to 30000 annual points I believe. Which is a week to 2 weeks stay depending if it is high season, all inclusive etc.

You can use this at numerous resorts in Europe, the Carribean, Mexico and the US.
Only one property in Canada and that is in Quebec.

I have never used it, ever!

I have annual dues of about $550 USD.
The time share is yours if you pay the 2009 dues, ( The 2009 points will transfer to 2010) The 2010 dues are due soon and we have it legally transferred in to your name which i believe can be done at a notary for a few hundred dollars.

Any takers? No relatives of mine want it and I just don't get away enough. When I do get vactaion time I spend it in Canada visiting relatives.

I am just asking questions, so do not get mad at me . I used to be a timeshare salesman here in the states so I am just curious about a few things, and also letting people know a few questions to ask you as well.

The points you have , which resorts does royal holiday own? I am sure if you go outside their resorts to Europe or where ever you have to use them in conjunction with RCI or II and pay a exchange fee for that correct ( my resorts were a certain number of points and on average of $149 domestic and $199 international per week)? Also you might also mention , your not guaranteed a stay when you want.

On a points system , everything is based on availability. Some of the places I sold out of had resorts booked up over a year in advance for special occasions and events. Also on the Annual Dues or matienence fees, Is it in writing that they stay the same ? Or do they go up whenever the insurance for the resorts go up ?

I am not trying to Spam or troll your thread, there are just things that a lot of people don't know about timeshare and thats why some people buy and are not happy. I am not saying that is the case here. Also if anyone has any questions or concerns about timeshare please feel free to PM me and I will try to help you out as much as I can .

P.S. to the OP , if you dont mind me asking, if you never used it why did you buy it ? good salesman? A lot of promised stuff? or just though you were going to start traveling more than you did ?

Nicker,
No worries. I really do not know alot of the details as I have never used it, and therefore I have no idea about availablity etc.

The reason I have it is this.
My Wife's Grandmother bought it and had just paid the $20000 USD (approx) purchase price on January 31st 2000. She was diagnosed with Luekemia 6 months later and was dead within the year. On her deathbed my wife agreed to be bequethed the timeshare as her Grandmother just doled out a whack of cash and he widower (step grandfather) would never use it.

One Notary public later it was in my deed and I have been paying the annual due ever since.

The annual fees are subject to change as our went up from $515 in 2000 to $550 now.

I am not sure about the ownership of which resorts but I would suggest the website http://www.club.royal-holiday.com/in....section&id=16 to check out their properties.

I can't say I am happy or unhappy with the Timeshare but I do know that the likelihood of me using this is the next 15 years is as likely as Jokinen potting 50 goals this season. It may happen but probabaly not.

What's the availability like for Indian Palms (Indio) in April ?

Could be worth it for anyone who makes the trip to Coachella every year

I deleted a post.

Let's keep in mind this isn't a discussion thread about the pros and cons of timeshares.
