I just bought that 10 game DVD package of classic Flames games, and it has that game on it of course. I haven't watched it yet though ... the first on I watched was the 1986 game 7 against Edmonton. I love Steve Smith. That's easily one of the top 10 Flames goals of all time in my books, probably top 3 to 5.

Thanks for the link... Such a mean game... Man how hockey has changed in the last 20 years. Those were some tough guys. Too bad the end of the video gets fast forwarded.

Yeah it was something to watch. Courtnall and Lemieux steamroll Vernon. Smith slewfoots him before a point shot. Ludwig's slash on Nieuwendyk and Chelios with the first of many elbow shots to the head, including one on Lanny at about 30:30 (video time). And the amount of hooking and grabbing that that happened on break-outs and through the neutral zone.

It was almost a different game.
