BC bans body armour...
http://www.theprovince.com/news/Gang...800/story.html
Do you agree or disagree with this? I think the idea is that anyone who needs body armour must be up to no good. This could be the case most of the time, but it just seems wrong to me. I mean, if guns are not banned, why should something that protects you from guns be banned?
The government is saying that it gives police another tool to recognize who the bad guys are, but if they are wearing body armour, I'd say that there is a good chance that they are doing enough other illegal activities that the police would be able to pick them up for.

Oh gawd!!~!@ Someone shot Bacon?
But really, "banning" body armour.
That would be like "banning" shooting someone and hoping that did something to curb gang violence.

I think it's just a way for police to be able to give out small charges to the gangsters wearing them all the time. If this results in police being better able to monitor these guys, get them on curfews or anything like that, I'm all for it.

I bet they don't do anything if a world leader bring his own body guards with them and wear body armour. Another law that takes away freedoms.

That person should have thought about that before breaking the law in the first place.

Just like a gun you just have to have a license. It is not saying no one can ever wear them.

Have I missed something? since when are you allowed to carry a gun in BC?
The second part is correct, without this law the cops can't do a legal search on a guy wearing armor even know theres a good chance he's packing a gun or maybe a pound of coke.
Any law that can reduce violent crime is a good law IMO.

A body armor registry is ridiculous. It'll be expensive and ineffective.

Hold on, If I'm wearing two heavy shirts on a cold day, I could be accused of breaking the law? Technically, extra layers of clothes are body armor...against the weather! Where do we draw the line?
PS what about my Kevlar underwear?

Well, that's what they say in the good ol USA, so they arm themselves with assault rifles and 44 mags. Whats it get them?

If you need a suit of body armour to protect yourself, chances are getting a license to do so isn't your biggest issue.
