Shaw Direct (Starchoice) vs. Shaw HD Cable

There are similar threads but none directly compare these 2 TV options. In addition, content and prices are changing all the time and undoubtedly have changes from previous threads.

We are debating getting one of these TV packages, probably the Shaw HD Cable. We are looking at bundling the High-speed internet with the HD cable package ($105/month). The Shaw Direct package would be the English Essentials, HD Essentials, and 9 speciality bundles and would have to pay extra for internet as there are no bundle options with Shaw Direct ($116/month).

Do any of you have experience with these systems and have some advise, information, or experience you can share that would aid in making the decision between these 2 systems? Specifically programming and HD quality?

having the ability to bundle Shaw Direct TV with phone and internet is coming down the road (the name change was the first step). the HD quality is slightly higher on Shaw Direct as there is no signal compression, but it's been years since i've used any Star Choice/Shaw Direct equipment so I can't comment on it beyond that. if you already have internet I'd probably go the cable route just to save the extra money
