Dont shake hands, pound!
Fist bump can pound out flu transmission
http://www.cbc.ca/canada/calgary/sto...pound-flu.html
Quote:
Instead of touching the surface of people's hands where germs lurk, the pound's brief contact of fists offers a more hygienic greeting that can prevent the spread of the flu, Dr. Tom Feasby said Wednesday.
"It's a nice replacement of the handshake because you can't just refuse to shake someone's hand. It's rude and seems almost un-Canadian," he said.
"This is a nice, intimate gesture: a gentle bump of the fist that replaces the handshake if you get used it."
|
Quote:
Feasby said he's been refusing handshakes and offering a pound instead for the last six weeks.
"After a few funny looks they usually get the idea and do it," Feasby said, adding he does have to explain why he's not shaking hands.
"Young people find this easier than older people but we can all learn."

Give a solid, dont spread germs.

Remember: it isn't complete until you pull your hand back slowly, open you hand suddenly and quietly make the sound of a dramatic explosion.

This isn't colonial England circa 1675, the end of a stage show nor the beginning of a square dance session.

As long as you don't do the explosion thing after the fist bump, I got no issue.

Just last week I went to shake someones hand and they gave me the pound. They explained that it's flu season.
A little awkward but I understood.

I really hope this catches on. It will allow for more frequent use of the words "wagwan" and "respek".

And I would finally be able to pronounce 'ask' the way it was intended, "Axe".
