I can't stand it when a player gets traded from a team and basically bad mouths them to the whole world afterwards. I say, make your peace, shut up and just move on.
In this article Carter talks about how he never really tried in Toronto and now that he has moved to another team he is going to get back to putting some effort into his game...
What this jackass needs to realize is that not only the raptors praised this guy, but so did most of the country. The least he could have done was put some effort into his game...
Carter: I never really tried...

And for the rest of his carreer, Vince Carter will be remembered as the second lowest form of athelete possible: a quitter.
Nice legacy you are leaving for yourself there VC.

Man, I'd love to see the Raptors try to screw him over for this. He didn't try for us. Fine we had a contract that paid you x-dollars. You didn't try, we wan't half of it back, see you in court. Oooooh that'd be one hell of a ground breaking case, it would have terrible effect on professional sports, but it would be entertaining to see Carter get his.

Unfortunately what Vince doesn't realize is that by playing like crap for the past few years and not trying, he has let many bad habits creep into his game. He'll never get to where he could have been. And there is one major point you must remember about Vince Carter, regardless of weather he is putting in an honest effort, he is the softest pro athlete in the world. He will go nowhere.

No doubt, he is a world-class candy-ass.

Yeah, they woudln't have a chance, and I'm pretty sure the contract doesn't say anthing about playing your best, so they woudln't have much to stand on. It'll never happen, but I like do dream some times.
Man did he screw things up though. He could have been a national hero (for a while, he arguably was). Seriously he could have been the marquis player for all of Canada but instead he dogs it and tries to go to a team that is better so that he can keep dogging it and still win. A guy like Kobe or KG are gonna make any team good because they have the talent, desire to win, and the work ethic to make it happen. VC has one out of three, guess which one it is.

Wow. What a clown.
Does he think these comments are going to endear him to Nets fans. Any fan that respects the game knows that a guy like this will prove to be nothing but a cancer for his team.
Can hardly wait until "Vincanity" returns to Toronto and the boos reign down.

Even with Carter giving an effort in NJ, the nets are still losing. I watch alot of sports channels and ever since Vince got traded to the nets, I've seen Carter go down atleast 3 times in pain. Thank you NJ for taking his contract off the Raptors' hands.

I actually saw the video of the this interview and what I took from it and mind you it's what I took from his coments was he was saying that it was so good in Toronto that he didn't try to stay in shape, etc. etc. it doesn't seem to me anyway that he's saying he never tried in toronto but more that he never tried to stay in shape and that he took himself and the team for granted, I will admit though that through all of this I'm still a carter fan, I don't really know why but I still like the guy, wish him all the luck in the world and maybe someday we'll see him in a raptors uniform again,

Are you nuts??
He is a quitter, he is soft and he is selfish. Even though the Raptors got basically nothing in return for him they still won the trade getting this jerk out of T.O.

If baseball teams can fine players for not running hard to first when it's an easy play to get them out, I don't see why basketball teams can't do the same for players not trying. That said, I also don't think they'd win the lawsuit

The one player that comes to mind when I read this was Eric Lindros. Nothing but a big spoiled baby.
I wonder when things ger rough in the swamp if Carter will bail and "not try."
His value is going to be next to zero.
