So Lady Gaga was the special musical guest on SL yesterday. Her first performance was Paparazzi, and it was pretty par for the course. Odd costumes, scantily clad men, her WEIRD stare.
Her second performance started out prettty much the same. She started with Love Game, and she was sport this ridiculous globe-like...structure...thing. Again pretty, par for the course. But then part way through the performance, she stops, walks to a piano on stage and starts playing.
Suffice to say I saw floored. 4 mins after that she just sat there singing and playing on a piano, and it was just completely captivating! Just watch below as the song moves from the 1:30 mark:
Amazing how one performance can completely change your opinion on someone's talent.

Well aside from being Lady Gaga she is a professional songwriter and wrote/writes for P*ssy Cat Dolls.
Yeah I've heard this before, but usually I just hear her pop music, which is quite catchy and I do enjoy. Still, songwriter or not, it's pretty tough to sit in front of a single instrument and captivate an audience by yourself.
Her singing in the beginning was awful but when she started the piano she was really good. But God damn why is she so freaky? Are the costumes necessary? Must you do those weird look things? Maybe that's the reason Kanye opted out of tour with her... she gave him night mares

I, too, was surprised with how good she actually sounded. I thought she was lip syncing at first but then I realized she was actually performing.
Props to her
All you people calling her a she? havent u heard she has both parts?
Self admitted to! google it!
While typically I would say this kind of comment is fair game, I think the mood of this thread is more geared toward her talent than her gender so lets try to stick to that. I will never be confronted with a situation where her gender would in any way affect me so why would I care what parts she has. Neither I nor you will ever sleep with lady gaga so it's irrelevant and pretty TMZ'ish.
I have to say I was blown away last night. How sad is it that our music culture has gotten to the point where we are super impressed by musicians actually having talent. They make millions based on talent yet few and far between have actually shown that they are remotely special.

I think she made a smart choice to do that medley for her 2nd performance - to prove her "chops" so to speak and she was excellent, very talented for sure - I'd love to see even 1/2 of the other "popstars" out there do so well, I don't think they could pull it off.
At least she's different and talented - something more performers were back when it was less about looks and more about ability.
To me, she just seems like the type of person that tries to shock people.
Just like Madonna did in the 80's, Lady Gaga is doing it now.
She is very talented, one of the few pop acts that can actually sing.
And I like her outrageous outfits etc.
But that's just me..

Actually if you google it you'll find that it now assumed to be a rumour.
It's not a rumor. There's video.
Anyway. I was very distracted by her first performance. I noticed a few things with lighting a shadows and whatnot. I didn't think she did a very good job with it. I was blown away by the second one though. It was very good. Very buzz worthy.
