BBQ In Winter?
Can I leave my Natural Gas BBQ hose connected through the winter months?
I usually BBQ in all months of the year but that was with propane.
Now I have Natural Gas and was wondering if I should be disconnecting it when not in use, or just leave it hooked up.
Tried a thread search and found nothing and google was rediculous.
I know there was a thread regarding "getting the gas coupling hooked up" ,but couldn't find it.

I have used my NG BBQ for years at up to -30 temperatures and have had no issues. So from my experience, go right ahead.

Just leave it hooked up and enjoy BBQing all year round. You have nothing to worry about. Hmmm steak in a nice warm house when it's -30.

BBQ'ing on a nice cold winter evening while drinking a beer is perhaps one of the greatest zen moments for me.

I like winter. I like the snow. The only thing I don't like about winter is shoveling my walk.

Yup. I BBQ 365! Ovens and stoves are for chumps and the weak, a real man can live with nothing more than a BBQ and a microwave!
And a local pub.

I hate winter. I hate snow. The only thing good is our street pays to have the walks and driveways shoveled.

^^^^ agree 100%, except for the microwave. I use it to heat up my coffee and that's about it. That's why it's in the basement (man cave).

As my dad always says, "You don't have to shovel hot."

I like winter. I like snow. I just hate shoveling it.
I love to 4x4 my truck in snow... the deeper the better!.
.... and then to top the afternoon off, you take along one of those portable bbq's and cook up some burgers and dogs for your afternoon lunch.

I never understood the theory of not barbequing in the winter months. Yes it's cold, however you're litterally cooking with fire! What more can you ask for as a heat source than FIRE?!

You have no problems at all.
Boiling point of propane is around -40
Boiling point of Nat. Gas is about -160
Even if you did use your propane BBQ in temps below -40, it wouldnt be dangerous, it just wouldnt work.

You can leave it hooked up no problem, but nat gas sucks balls in winter. Need more BTU! Nothing beats a heating pad around a propane bottle.
