Default Chirac said Bush invaded Iraq to thwart Gog and Magog...

The president of the United States, in a top-secret phone call to a major European ally, asked for French troops to join American soldiers in attacking Iraq as a mission from God. Now out of office, Chirac recounts that the American leader appealed to their “common faith” (Christianity) and told him: “Gog and Magog are at work in the Middle East…. The biblical prophecies are being fulfilled…. This confrontation is willed by God, who wants to use this conflict to erase his people’s enemies before a New Age begins.”

Recently, GQ magazine revealed that former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld attached warlike Bible verses and Iraq battle photos to war reports he hand-delivered to Bush. One declared: “Put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground.”
This is not the first time stuff like this has been reported... everyone knows he kept the craziest evangelicals on speed dial.

Makes you wonder....

One terrible leader spouting off on an even worse one.

I wouldn't, for lack of a better term, take this conversation as gospel.

Wow.

He comes out with this now - he must have a book coming out - he on the same level of whorism as Kanye West.

You have to love people who say someone told them something but tell everyone about it 8 years later and they bring no proof whatsoever.

I will take this with a grain of salt, however, I do remember reading about the Bohemian Grove a few years ago, where apparently many world leaders go. Which is fine, but supposedly they are there to worship deities such as the ones mentioned.

Sounds like the basis for the Bible and religion in general...

I find it hard to believe that many world leaders are actually true believers.

Though they'll happily use the facade to win votes or influence people.

Yeah, I mean why didn't he just create an international incident and spill the beans at the time?

If true, it was probably best to wait. Frankly, knowing Curious George W. like I do, it probably is true. He's made no secret of the fact that he's a bible-thumping moron.

You lazy b*tches should read the article

Subsequently, ex-President Chirac confirmed the nutty event in a long interview with French journalist Jean-Claude Maurice, who tells the tale in his new book, Si Vous le Répétez, Je Démentirai (If You Repeat it, I Will Deny), released in March by the publisher Plon.
This surprises people? Bush has never been shy about telling people why he believes that Iraq was a mission from God.

South Park the Movie would have been 100 times better if they made Bush the bad guy instead of Kim Jong Il.
