Default Sooo...driving is a BITCH. Rant here to alleviate stress.

So, it just took me almost 3 hours to get to the University. I just got here, because I have an exam to write at 7:00.

Thankfully enough, I got the winter tires put on my Jeep this morning.

4x4 Jeep Grand Cherokee + Pirelli Scorpion Winter Tires =

Absolutely ridiculous. I was ready to murder the people ahead of me when I was almost finally here, who are in the left lane on Crowchild that is a must exit onto University drive, but clearly dont want to go on University drive, so they stop at the turnoff and put their left signal on while I WANT TO GET PAST THEM!

I kind of liked it. I had an hour to myself between 16th Ave N and Glenmore Tr on Deerfoot to listen to loads of tracks I haven't heard in ages! It was kind of therapeutic.

its amazing how every year we have bad driving conditions around this time and people still dont seem to know how to drive it. I mean are all these people from Vancouver or something?

Pfft. No sweat. I just spent two hours in traffic and didn't even swear once. I had yesterday's Jim Rome podcast to keep me company.

I'm rather entertained by all the people trying to get up the road infront of my house. It's not much of a hill but it doesn't get plowed and people keep insisting on going up rather then going down, either way leads out. Then again some people in their small cars are managing to get stuck trying to go down too.

They all laughed at me when I spent all that money on genetic engineering, but I got the last laugh today.

Imagine being passed by this:

I'm with ya Locke. Most frustrating part is I have killer winter tires and seemingly no one else does. I was doing the speed limit on Crowchild, and I think I may have been the only one. Everyone else was doing 65. It is so frustrating because everyone else sucks and I have no problems.

It took me an 1 hour and 15 minutes to make an 8 km drive. I think there would be a lot of improvements in traffic movement if everyone would just get winter tires. Get the winter tires!!! As for the other contributing factors to slow traffic, I have no solutions for. There is only so much you can do for stupidity and bad driving

Coming back from lunch northbound on heritage meadows way to get to the left turn to heritage drive and up the hill. Decide to go another route as 11th seemed more prudent and people were probably getting stuck on the hill. This involves getting out of left hand lane into the RH lane. Fine, wait for traffic to clear. Change lanes and the minivan I let pass decides now, at the intersection to get into the superstore parking lot to change into the left lane, and stops. (No stop signs at this particular intersection, and in fact, they are obstructing traffic by trying to occupy the space I just vacated. )

Then there was a bimmer driver who would have broadsided me if I hadn't come to a complete stop as I stared at them yak on their phone while not slowing down at all in a 20kph parking lot, in ideal conditions.

I thought the ride home tonight was fantastic. Other than some reduced visibility due to blowing snow no complaints at all. To those of you who live/drive in the core, condolences.

My drive only took 10 minutes extra. I was doing the speed limit where traffic allowed and the conditions weren't that bad.

Locke, driving wouldn't be so bad if you drank AFTER you arrived at your destination, not before. That little trick was passed down to me from my father, who was taught it by his father, who learned it from his father, who traded a mule for it.

There is a law no studded tires after a certain date in the spring, there should be the same law about summer tires IMO

Roads aren't even THAT bad, but I got 2 hours to myself. Listening to Rob Kerr and Boomer...Ken King was on the FAN. It was alright, I swore once because NO ONE would let me into lanes, ######s. Otherwise, not a bad ride. And now I'm off to a Christmas Party....free booze for all!!

My drive home was more like 2.5 hours but I just plugged my iPod in and listened to some tunes, today would have been a good day to have the Rome podcasts but I don't know that I'd use them on non-awful driving days.

Well the current road conditions are going to cost me 2 days! I'm supposed to have an exam tomorrow here in Lethbridge but due to this awful weather it's been canceled. So now I have to stay here until Wednesday to write it.

I was supposed too come back to Calgary on Monday (which happens to be birthday) and party hard after studying my face off for the last two weeks. Ugh.

2 hour bus ride for me, some people on the bus challenged the bus so they got off and literally walked 10 blocks before the bus caught up to them

I didn't even get out of the driveway.

My god damn wiper clip (or whatever it's called, the piece that clips the blade to the arm) snapped into a million pieces.

I am so angry I wanted to rip something in half. But hey, at least I get the pleasure of having my dad drive me around tomorrow morning looking for a new wiper blade (I guarantee that the size I need is sold out, just to make my life more fun)

2.5 hours to go from Market Mall to Chinook Centre then to Oakridge this afternoon, although we kinda screwed up by staying on MacLeod for longer then we should have.

Sitting on 17th ave just outside Chestermere for the last half hour. Another big accident I swear natural selection is in overdrive out here. Posting from my phone.

The longer I wait the more I think it's almost cleared up so going the long way around will take longer now.

Get to sit and listen to the game tho.
