Pictures from the most far flung, exotic, isolated or interesting places you've been. A short note about the place or the trip would be nice to add a little as well.

I've got lots of travel shots but I'll avoid recycling for now:

A quasi hdr taken at Ayuthia in central Thailand, Northeast of Bangkok. Not quite so touristy as other Thailand joints and great for history. People here were nice that other places in Thailand that I experienced.

EDIT: Fixed.
Kind of a cheesy pic, but posting it anyway because it's an experiment.

Sunset at 15,300 feet, Barafu Camp on Mt. Kilimanjaro, Tanzania . . . . a year ago. The lights of Moshe would emerge in the darkness 10,000 feet below. We would summit the next day at 19,340 ft.

Edward Mollel, an assistant guide, on the Barranco Wall of Mt. Kilimanjaro . . . . this black and while helped me win $50 at the Millarville Fair photo competition . . . . so I sent him the $50 a few weeks ago as a thanks. He's married, with a son, and would rather be a carpenter than a guide . . . but you take what you can get in Tanzania. He speaks English, Spanish and Swahili.

Hard to come up with just one photo from Angkor Wat, but I think this one's my favorite.

Wow there's some fantastic stuff on here. Unfortunately, most of my travel stuff is on film and my scanner sucks. Here goes anyway....

Oradour-sur-Glane, France. This is a town that was attacked by German forces on June 10, 1944. For reasons still unknown, the Germans rounded up every man, woman, and child, and massacred the entire population. The men were shot in the village square, and the women and children were locked in the church and burned alive. When it was over, every building in the town (328 of them) had been burned to the ground and 642 innocent civilians (including 205 children) were dead. The town was left almost exactly as it was found as a monument to the horrors of war. It is a place that, once visited, stays with you a long time. You can learn more about it here.

La Roque-Gageac, France. Clinging to the banks of the Dordogne River, this town is one of the 1000 most beautiful villages in France.
