Thumbs up Official 2011 Seattle Seahawks Thread

With the likes of Hasselbeck and Tatupu moving on, yet with having a reasonable shot at winning the NFC West again this year, I thought I'd start up a specific thread for my favourite NFL team.

If there is no interest and people want to just use the NFL thread, then I'll let this thread die out.

Who else on CP is a Seahawks fan? Anyone thinking of making a trip down to watch a game this year? What are your thoughts on the many changes the team has made this off-season? Does the thought of sharing your favourite NFL team with many Vancouver Cannots fans make you feel queasy? Which will (might) happen first: Another Flames Stanley Cup Championship, or a Seahawks Super Bowl Championship? Have you gotten over Super Bowl XL yet?

Here is the story on Tatupu:

GO SEAHAWKS!

I hate the Seahawks because they were forced down my throat as a kid when my TV didn't go much past 30.

Funny, that's why I started cheering for the Seahawks!

Now that the Seahawks are no longer in the AFC West, I have taken a bit of interest in them as a NFC team to watch. I still think Pete Carrol is a bit in over his head as a NFL coach, but they did need to change the roster over. I still think the Charlie Whitehurst trade was a terrible idea, good second round pick for a guy who's a mediocre backup?

Should be another interesting season in Seattle as year two of the Carrol project takes hold. I am thinking of trying to go to a game, maybe try the game against Atlanta. although the Thursday nighter in December against the Eagles is tempting.

Myself, I think I will look at the Bengals game on October 29, not because it is the most intriguing game, but because my wife and I are expecting and she is due in September, plus my group usually likes to also catch a college game (U of Arizona @ U of Washington on October 28). We may also look at going to Dallas to see the 'Hawks play in that new stadium that Jerry Jones built for the Cowboys on November 6.

Seahawks Stories for Today:

Robert Gallery will bring toughness, but he’s no ‘bad boy’

Jameson Konz, utility man

Confirmed: Kelly Jennings will return to Seattle

Pete Carroll adamant that Tatupu decision was mutual

One doesn't cheer for the Seahawks because it is easy.

Seahawks agree to terms with K Jeff Reed

After knee injury, big Red Bryant back for Seattle

Carroll says Miller, Carlson will ‘absolutely’ play in tandem

Can't wait to see how this new group comes together!

I was wondering if Miller meant the end for Carlson, but having two tight ends can work in the right system. The Patiots were able to use Hernandez, and Gronkowski quite effectively. Mind you they also have some dude named Brady.

It helps that Carlson is still on a very cheap entry rookie contract (his last year of it), so there's really no good reason to cut him loose.

Was happy to see the Seahawks have given Chase Reynolds a shot. Lots of Grizzlies to keep track of this preseason.

Where is a good spot to get tickets for a Seahawks game? I plan on going to the Philly game in December but want to find some quality seats.

I was thinking 135 or 109 around row 10-20. Would I be able to see enough of the feild? Should I go higher?

I've sat in 138 and 106..Very good seats but make sure you're higher up in those sections so you can see the play better.

As you can see in this picture, this is where I sat for one game, it was too low for my liking

I've always sat in the 300's sections, and the seats are great.
