Ducks welcome Angelo!

Well, after hitting big in the final UFA process we felt we had some extra players kicking around and felt the need to use 1 or 2 of them to bring in some youth. Angelo is a good prospect who the Ducks believe made strides last year. He has the potential to make an impact in the NHL, it is just a matter of whether or not he can put it together consistently and handle the pressure at the same time.

The deal looked like this:

What the hell we're past the point of no return so lets sink the ship.

Krajicek was actually once a pretty highly regarded prospect. He's only 25, played nearly 20 minutes a night last year, put up 19 points in 71 games and his -8 isn't that bad for a guy who played that much on a bad team like the Lightning. That stat line compares pretty well against a guy like Derek Morris! He's also signed for next year at 1.3 a year which is a decent rate.

With Esposito we weren't sure what he would do coming off that knee injury. At this point I figured a good 3rd line, low tier 2nd forward was his top end upside. For some reason he gives me a Benoit Poulliot like vibe and he didn't even get a RFA offer from the Wild yet. So I figured I'd take a sure thing and let this hand grenade explode in my fist later on.

The league is no fun when everyone tries to build for the future.
