Makes me grateful for being born in Canada. Sometimes we complain about the smallest things while there are people trying to just survive whether it be because of war or starvation.
Canada really is the greatest country in the world.

1. Those kids were obviously coached as to what to say. Unless the Gaza Strip is home to the smartest kids in the world those are obviously someone elses words put into the kids mouth.
2. If you want to look at the poverty in that region they have to look at the leadership who siphons off the aid and directs it towards military channels such as supporting suicide bombers not to mention their own lifestyles. The Palestine Authority is more than happy to sit back and watch the population starve because it raises support for their causes and gets sympathy from the rest of the world.
3. The idiot at the end talking about how there were no military installations in the area. Of course there aren't their "fighters" have taken to hiding behind the civilian population, firing rockets at Israel from schools and hospitals, transporting weapons and ammunition in ambulances, knowing all the while that Israel's hands are tied with regards to actually doing anything about the situation.
Edit: My personal opinion is that it is easy to sit back and be an armchair general, but at the end of the day if there was a group of people from Airdrie who had been forcibly removed from Calgary that was firing rockets into Calgary and threatening my way of life, I would want there to be military action as well. Holding hands just doesn't work in international conflicts, the main concern that I would have would be about protecting my way of life and that of my family and if good people who were living in Airdrie died as a result of the military actions of Calgary, that is unfortunate, but I would much rather someone else die than myself, my family or my friends. Might sound cold and I know people will criticize me for it but the instinct for survival trumps everything in my view at least.

I was in Israel during the last invasion in December/January and actually within range of the Hamas missiles for a while. I watched Israeli fighter jets fire missiles above me and I saw the smoke from Hamas missiles landing in my surroundings. It is impossible for an outsider to fully understand the situation. I watched Al-Jezeera, BBC World, and any other English news stations to get a well-rounded feel for the situation. There is no real solution, anybody that thinks they know one doesn't fully understand. I heard all the stories from both sides and it just leaves you speechless because this is an age-old war. Hamas and the PLO hate each other, which just adds to the many rifts in the area. However, Hamas was democratically elected in an American sanctioned election (but subsequently dissolved parliament). Both sides are to blame, but unless one ceases to exist, I can't see this ever ending.
If its Hamas funded (likely), the trash can can be found below which is where the garbage belongs. When the BBC (the only credible news source for the region) has something I will watch it with interest.

Like I said before, there are 2 sides to every story. About 50% of the population in Gaza is children so any conflict is bound to have child casualties. Also I think it was shown that Hamas were using children as human shields, in addition to using UN warehouses and hospitals as launching pads. They would even go so far as to dress up as medical staff. It's just such a messy conflict. If I recall correctly, Gaza is one of the most densely populated areas in the entire world and with the type of warfare that is used, innocent bystanders are going to be high.
