Default Kenmore and Frigidaire Smoothtop Stove Recall

Hazard: Depending on the model, the surface heating elements can 1) turn on spontaneously without being switched on; 2) fail to turn off after being switched off; or, 3) heat to different temperatures than selected. This poses a fire and burn hazard to consumers.

Fortunately mine was not one of the ones affected.

I have one but not one of the models listed, strange I figured it was a sure bet recall on mine being electric and smooth top.

Thanks for the heads up

Anyone know where I can find the relevant info? I looked on the back and in the fuse slot, but can't seem to see anything.

I’m always amazed these sportscasters and announcers can call the game with McDavid’s **** in their mouths all the time.

There should be label behind the bottom pull out drawer.

Serial Plate is located by opening the range drawer at the bottom of the unit.

Thanks, yeah, I'm good, I'm not affected. The drawer was the last place I'd look LOL

Mine's a Kenmore, but not one of the models in the recall, too bad, I think there's something wrong with one of the oven elements that we only really figured out after the warranty period was up (takes WAY too long to bake things). We sort of hoped ours was on the recall, maybe they would have got us a new stove.
