Default Dog washes

How do these car/dog washes work? What kind of setup do they have anyway? Do you just pay whatever and throw your mutt in a big tub next to someone elses Fido? Seems a little chaotic if so!! Or maybe you get your own bay and pressure wash them ?

I've got time to kill today, and a couple dirty dogs I got to look after and wondered if someone could tell me which one to try. Thanks

Well if you are in the NW this place was alright http://www.waymarking.com/waymarks/W...algary_Alberta
It's a pretty simple setup, but it works (holy crap that image is a lot bigger than I thought it would be).

If you have a big dog, dog washes are the greatest thing ever invented. Just be sure to wear your grubby clothes and to bring a towel. My old rottie hated the blow dryer, but even if she liked it, I wouldn't pay for it.
The first time I took her there, she just hated everything about it. The metal table really freaked her out. Good thing there is a latch you can hook on to your dog's collar to keep her from jumping out of the basin.

Another use for a Pickup!!

Put your dog in the back and go through an automatic carwash.

Dog AND truck clean!

Twice the fun NONE the mess.

The dog / car wash on Heritage and Fairmount drive is great. I take Morley there about every 3 weeks (depending if he's really dirty or not). He hates it, but is getting more use to it everytime.

Unless your dog is bigger than you, why not just use your bathtub? Works fine..

Yeah, I tried washing Morley in the tub a couple times. Way too messy and a real pain in the back.

Morley is 75 lbs and has longish fur that could easily clog my drains at home.

Buzzard'sWife- why don't you just use your kitchen sink if it's the dog in your avatar photo... I have a dog that size, and although she hates it, that's where I bath her.

I'd tell Buzzard he can clean himself and just get him to use the bathtub like a normal person.

These two mudhole-luvin' Golden's get washed and groomed twice a year . . . . whether they need it or not.

Golden's are like self-cleaning ovens . . . . . they dry off on the marble floor and when they stand up, there's a pile of dust waiting to be vacuumed and two pristine dogs.

. . . . . . although I did take a hose to them this afternoon - a hot spot prevention measure - after they were swimming in a late-season, greenish tinted lake.

I thought you were only supposed to bath your dog once or twice a year?

Edit: and for gods sake just put the link up for that picture!!!!

Ahhhh scheiße!! I forgot to log out of wifey's handle. I'm the OP. Hate when that happens. Anyway, we've got two dogs. The one is the same as the dog in the avatar...and he still fits nicely in the kit sink, but the other's too big now.

My old boss took his new puppy to a dog wash in Strathmore and it promptly caught a virus from being in there and died a few days later.

I don't mean to be a buzz kill. It's just the truth, sadly.

haha, i know. I feel bad bringing it up and being a debbie downer, but these things can happen at dog washes. however, they can happen at a doggie salon too, i'm sure.
