Some people are just way too organized.
The problem I notice with subforums is unless I have a reason, I almost never go into it. A bunch of drafts dried up when they got moved. So while for organization reasons a "media" or "politics" sub-forum makes sense, I think you would find it would actually decrease the number of posts.
A better way to manage would be if the tags could be made more consistent. Then you could just click on the "media" or "TV show" tag to see related threads. But there is almost no way to enforce thread creators use consistent tags and the mods are busy enough. We almost need a "Tag squad" that has rights to set tags.
