CP Pro Football Pick 'Em
While I'm at it, might as well sign up for this as well. Dont' know HOW I won last year, but I'll try to repeat this year!! I think Detroit's high level of suck made for good 16 confidence picks.
I'm not excited for the football sesason to start AT ALL!

Fool proof plan 16 confidence points on whoever plays the Chiefs, 15 on whoever plays the Lions.

Maybe in 2007, but a lot of key guys are a couple years older now. Pats are probably good for 12 wins and the AFC East. Chiefs and Lions are a better bet to lose more games than that. San Diego to beat the living crap out of any AFC West is pretty much a sure thing too.

16 on Denver through week 4 and then 16 against them the rest of the way...save the home game against Oakland.
MONEY.

Figured it was worth bumping this thread as the season starts on Thursday. These pools have been fun in the past and if you make picks every week you generally stand a good chance of finishing top 5.

Just a question. With those confidence points...does "1" mean you're the most confident in them winning, or does "16" mean that?

Like FF said. In this pool it's not the number of games you pick right, but how many points you get.
Although I wouldn't call you a homer if you put 16 points on the Saints to beat the Lions this week. I would call Flickered Flame a dilusional homer if he put 16 points on the Dolphins to beat Atlanta this week. I noticed 5% of the world had Kansas City to beat Baltimore...I guess 5% of the world either clicked the wrong button, is trying to be really daring or is just plain stupid.

It is one of the main reasons why I don't win this game, I pick with my heart too often. Though this week I didn't pick the Fins at a double digit number.

14-2, not bad. I got the Card's game wrong and the Giants game.

I'm pissed I made my picks but they didn't take so I only have one game from last week.

Only 3 favorites lost last week. I wonder - if you only selected favorites every week, you would probably end up doing very well.

The good news is that you still only need about two weeks to get ahead of Troutman.
I think this week it will be a bit tougher to rack up a 14-2 record this coming week. Last week I thought all the 10+ confidence games looked like slam dunks and thanks to the Patriots, Colts, and Chargers winning close games they ended up going that way. This week it seems like the matchups look a lot more balanced. Outside of Minnesota in Detroit I was having a tough time picking double digit games. Even Washington hosting St.Louis....the Rams were like 0-3 last year and beat the Skins who were 3-0.
