Minnesota Vikings finally convince Favre...
Just reported on ESPN....Viking players told the network that it is a done deal and Favre will be in camp by the 3rd pre-season game.
Apparently after Favre said no...the Viking personnel people kept on him to re-consider and really started after the pre-season game of a couple days ago.

No link on ESPN yet, but I can't say I'd be surprised.
Its been almost a week since he was the most talked about QB on ESPN, that had to weigh into his decision.

why? he said no but its the viking that are persistent. they're likely going to pay him good cash so why not take it and see what comes. this is on the Vikes not Favre.

Naw, it's on Favre for not being able to stick to a decision. I'm sick of hearing about him.

he made his decision, but the Vikes won't give up? like I said above if the money is good, and the team is good, give in and see what comes.

What's going to come is another mediocre season, followed by an off season of him humming and hawing about whether he should retire, and how his legacy is affected by going out on bad seasons.

With that defense and AP running the ball, he just has to stay within his age and keep it simple.

I agree that he will be very mediocre and probably not an upgrade on Rosenfels but I'm pretty sure that there will be nore more humming and hawing as no team will want to touch him with a 10 foot pole.

What has changed since he retired a few weeks ago?
Who cares if the money is good, Favre has enough money and opportunities that he doesn't need to come back for that.
If this was the first fake retirement and then comeback perhaps people would have more patience, but after the way Favre has conducted himself the past few off-seasons it isn't surprising that people are sick of him.

I have not seen anything on Twitter yet to confirm this. Wonder if it is legit? I'll have to log onto Sirius. If its true that is all they will be talking about.

I think all this stems from Jay Glazer's OPINION.
"After visiting the Vikings for two days, I am convinced -- positively convinced -- that Brett Favre will soon have talks with the Vikings to return to the team and could be joining them for this season after all," Glazer writes. "If my instincts are correct, all those purple Favre jerseys will have a home on Minnesota store shelves"

Glazer works for FOX no?
This was on ESPN TV this morning...maybe they jumped the gun?

What???? Look..I get he is an old guy, but last year he was 8-3 when he injured his arm. The year before he was 13-3 with a GB team that was youngest in the league!!

Glazer sure does work for FOX, but this is all purely a hunch from him. He's of the opinion that the Vikings will continue to pursue Favre until he sign, which he's predicting to be Game 3 of the pre-season.
Personally, I still don't want him, as I'm of the opinion the team will be better WITHOUT him.
The distractions, the supernatural expectations....it would turn into a circus sideshow. But I guess I'd see my team alot more on TSN.....

Don't forget that if Favre comes back it's most likely that Madden does as well!

Has anyone ever retired half way through the season to come back out of retirement during the same season?
I think Farve might become the first...

I just want it to be over. Either come back and make the Vikings a better team (there is no argument that will happen) or don't. It's not all Farve's fault that the media blows this up to epic proportions.
I wonder how much this impacts the existing Vikings QBs. It's one thing for your team to express interest, it's another for your team to basically drop to its knees begging.
If Farve does end up in Minnesota, the NFC North is going to be one of the top 2 most interesting divisions (along with the AFC East). 3 great QBs, rivalries, etc...

Just retire and get it over with Brett, the good times are past you, you just cost the Vikes a playoff spot. Congrats.
I'm pretty sure every one is tired of hearing about Brett.

Ask sick as I am of Favre flip flopping I still think he is an upgrade at QB and I don't see how he "cost the Vikes a playoff spot."
