Default Non Shaw PVR Expander

I have a Motorola 6416 (i think) and for several months have been using the HHD combo from Memory express as the PVR expander.

Today I cannot access my recordings. I get an error message that the drive is not connected.

I rebooted my shaw box and the external hard drive and nothing, we did lose power today but once power was restored we did have access to all the recordings.

I did erase a few and then went in to try and watch a recording and BAM error message.

Any suggestions? Would a call to Shaw help or is my HHD screwed?

After phoning Shaw, it appears that my DCT is screwed and they are sending a tech tomorrow. Good news it appears the Hard drive is ok but if they replace the box we lose everything

I had a similar problem. I believe my hard drive was overheating. If I turned the hard drive off for a few hours, it would work just fine after I turned it back on. I have since placed the hard drive on the stand that it came with, and have not really had any problems. I believe the stand lets more air around the unit to cool it. That's my theory anyway.

I had Shaw reset the box and the dreaded ZERO came up. Hopefully they can fix it. I have about 5 episodes of 24 to watch

If it's the latest season of 24 you won't be missing much.
