Denis Parshin seems to be making $0.30 million on my ECHL team. I thought ECHLers were all s'posed to make $0.01 million. I'd appreciate any light anybody could shed on this...thanks.

In the rules is this...for everyone to read...

ECHL signing guidelines:

1st Round - Picks 1-10: $1.8 million, Picks 11-20: 1.6 million, Picks 21-30: 1.2 million

2nd Round - 1.0 million

3rd Round and beyond: 0.5 million

All Contracts are 3 Years

Now why hes making for than 1.8 is beyond me. Ask Jeff please.

on second look it appears as though he mustve been signed before this year? If so it wouldve been a negotiated salary.

OH so players can be signed to an ECHL contract, and it's just the drafted players who fall under the $0.10 million thing. I figured those guidelines were just meant for giving guys some idea of what to offer guys when signing ECHLers to a CPHL/AHL contract. Cool. Thanks a lot

edit: just to mention that this is my bad. The rules do say these things. I just misread them

???!!!! So what you're saying is that after the three years to sign them is up (or before, I guess), you can extend their time in the ECHL with a contract instead of having to bring them into the AHL? I think maybe the rules could be worded a little more clearly to avoid future confusion.

Players on the prospect list will be comprised of players drafted by the GMs in any Entry Draft. Each player on the prospect list will carry a value of $10,000 and the salary total will be counted against the AHL team Salary Cap of $2,000,000.

this makes it sound like all drafted players are worth $10,000 in the ECHL, but if only drafted players are allowed to be on the ECHL squad, then everyone would make $10,000

The ECHL team is a place were all your drafted players start out, and only drafted players can be on an ECHL team. Each ECHL player you have costs you $10,000 against your AHL cap. You can not sign anyone to an ECHL contract. Once you draft a player he goes on your ECHL roster and you have 3 years to sign that player to the specified amounts layed out in the guidelines.

correct Syl....pretty simple. IF after 3 years you dont think the prospect is worth signing to a major league CPHL/AHL contract he becomes a UFA. In other words any ECHLer who is on a 1 year deal right now and not signed by years end...or July 1st... becomes a UFA.

I can see why Supperfraggle is confused.

He has one prospect on his ECHL roster with a 0.30 salary listed. So either this player was signed and never moved to the AHL or there is an error on his ECHL roster that should be updated.

cus as the rules state there is no way that Denis Parshin should have a salary of 0.30.

yes I am aware of this problem and I have addressed it thru our UFA commissioner.
He was either signed BEFORE the present rule went into effect...in year 1...when we allowed unfettered contract negotiations....or it was entered wrong. Im leaning to the latter based on the players age. This will be rectified. Regardless, the only players allowed in the ECHL are YOUR drafted players...or drafted players traded for.
