We have all the players we need to field a team for this year and currently project to be over budget by a few million next year. We really have no hope in hell to compete with the roster we have as our goaltending is too weak. So we decided to get some money for next year and hope that Smith or Rinne has a good year and can get our goaltending up to standard for next season.
We threw away a 5th for Tordjman in case we have a goaltending injury and need to being up Bob Esche during the season. Somewhere in the system you need a three headed monster and Tordman gives us one in the AHL.
