I've been in Calgary for about 3 years now and I still haven't found a great delivery place. I'm sick of pizza. I need baked subs, pasta, chinese, whatever.

Name your top kick-ass delivery places. I'll give a fantastic prize* to the best suggestion.

*not really.

Two best Chinese food places in Calgary are:

1. Dragon Pearl (Inglewood) - get yourself some pan fried won tons, some Special Fried Rice, and some Black pepper beef. Sweet jesus its good

2. Peking Dragon (4th Street) - go for the ginger friend chicken, Yang Chao fried rice, spring rolls, and dumplings. Tasty!

What part of town do you want recommendations for? (important for delivery)

When I lived in Edgemont, I would order in from Edgemont Palace... good Chinese food (and lots of Chinese eat there, too).

Now I live in Cougar Ridge, and nobody delivers here (Cougar Ridge... where's that??? Oh boy....) so I usually pick up my orders. For Chinese Food, Toi Shan on Bow Trail and 37 Street is usually pretty good. There's also a Vietnamese place just down the road on 33rd that is pretty good as well.

When I lived downtown and was feeling lazy and didn't want to leave the house, I would order with Waiters on Route - lots of delivery options theres. Not sure if they are still around or not.

I'm afraid Edgement Palace (if its the place I think it is - half a block down from Spolumbos?) is closed. In its place is a mediocre Vietnamese restaraunt.

Nope the Edgemont Palace is still going strong, by the Esso station in Edgemont and the "Friends" coffee shop. I think you might be confusing it with something else.

And it is good. For something more authentic have the duck meat on a bed of shrimp which is then deep fried. Tasty... (sorry, I don't remember it's menu name)

Yeah. I misread - I was thinking Inglewood Palace. Never mind.

This reminds me, I ordered KFC yesterday and it took around 4 hours to arrive. On the bright side it was a free $40 meal...on the downside I almost died from starvation. Next time, going to the pizza 73 2 blocks away.

Varsity Pizza is great. Across the street is another great place, Matador Pizza. Try the Bullfighter pizza. Matador practically overloads their pizzas with toppings. I think they deliver, but not sure. I usually pickup.

I live upstairs from the Dragon Pearl and I've gotten take-out from them a few times. I don't like it at all--a lot of their batter-fried dishes have a really starchy taste to them. But I know so many people who love Dragon Pearl, so I must be missing something there--never tried the black pepper beef, maybe I'll give it a try sometime. My favorites for chinese food are Charlie Chans in Kensington and Kam Han in Ramsey.
