Michael Phelps whining like Luongo. May not swim until next year.
So he is whining because this new suit that came out by a new company is alot faster than his speedo suit. hmmmm he never complained when his 'new' speedo suit gave him an advantage and 8 gold medals at the olympics.
Maybe he is just bitter because he is locked into his Speedo contract and can't get the goods.

Neither is coach Bob Bowman, but not with anything his swimmer did. He went off on FINA for allowing swimsuit technology to get out of hand — a race for speed that, interestingly enough, actually started in February 2008 when Speedo introduced the LZR, the very suit Phelps is paid a great deal of money to endorse.
The very suit that now looks like a slowpoke alongside fully rubberized suits such as the X-Glide and Jaked.
At the risk of sounding hypocritical, Bowman ranted that he may just pull Phelps from any more international meets until FINA follows through on banning these suits. As it stands, the governing body is pointing toward having new rules in place by May 2010, when male swimmers will only be able to wear waist-to-knee suits (known as jammers) made from textile fabrics.

Seriously? Seriously? What a little b*tch. it is a well known fact that since those "shark skin"-like suits came out in 2000 people have been shattering records. While I agree that they should make them go back to the singlet undies to fully rule out the technology advantage, they can't go back now, especially since Phelps had the LZR at Beijing.

hahaha i liked his little pouting session he gave when he got the silver. BOO HOO HOO.
I wonder how everyone who wasn't sponsored by Speedo felt when they released his now obsolete suit designed by NASA back in 2008?

Do you guys know the story behind this?
Speedo had a suit, that stuff was banned so Speedo scraps the suit. Then low and behold some Italian suit maker which is sponsoring the World Championships got the world body to over turn it last minute.
Yes Speedo and Phleps were caught with their suits down but the whole thing is ridiculously corrupt.

If they want to make things fair for every swimmer they should just ban the suits completely. Then every swimmer would be encased in the same texture. Would it be fair in baseball if one team was allowed to use aluminum or titanium bats while the other team had to use wood?

Everyone's thinkin it, but no one has the guts to say it.
Naked swimming.
Completely takes technology out of play, except to see who can get the closest shave or brazilian wax. Even playing field.
And this would also apply to womens swimming... which means viewership of the sport jumps about 4500%. Everybody wins!
Heck, why do you think we even have the Olympics? It was a chance for the Greeks to view toned and tight bodies compete naked. Glorified porn. Time to return to our roots.

If Mike wants an Arena, he just has to say it," Cavic said. "If he wants a Jaked and they don't want to give it to him free, I'll buy it for him. He has options. I think in the media it's been portrayed that he has no option, he has to swim for (Speedo). It's a complete lie.

I heard the suit is being banned for next year. The one the gold medal winner had on that is.
For crying out loud, it is only swimming, it isn't even a real sport.

I am pretty sure swimming is a real sport. Swimming is one of the hardest work outs for your body. Plus water polo involves swimming and that game is nuts physical and would definitely be calling it a sport
