Default BC heatwave

Man it's hot these days. Was going to joke that ever since the Abbotsford farm team was officially known as the Heat it's been sweltering hot around here.

This really started in that first week of June, and since then there's only been a couple days of cool, spotty rain. Otherwise it's been sunny and 25 - 30C. More recently though it's more like 30 to 35C right here in Vancouver (right by the water even).

Just wondering how other BC cpers are handling this scorching heat. I never thought I'd feel this way, but I'm really starting to not enjoy this weather. It's nice to get these +30C days every now and again as a treat, but for weeks on end... yikes!

Quote:
Lytton also reached a broiling 40.1 C — beating out a 70-year-old record set in 1939 by one-tenth of a degree — while Chetwynd recorded a high of 30 C, surpassing the 28.5 C set in 1996.

B.C.’s hottest spot was Lillooet, which sweltered under a high of 40.2 C.

Scorching temperatures will climb to nearly 34 C for the next two days while the heat in the Fraser Valley will rise to 38 C, although it’s going to feel much hotter, said Louis Kohanyi of Environment Canada.

“It’s going to be quite humid, so it’s going to feel like 40 C or more on Tuesday and Wednesday,” he said.

This week will smash a 2004 record for the longest consecutive days of temperatures above 30 C.

It's been crazy even in Prince George too. It reminds me of Ontario summers because it isn't even cooling down much at night.

After living here for 3 years, it's about time we had a half decent summer!

BC is strange, 2 summers of cool and wet, followed by 2 summers of hot/disgusting weather...rinse, repeat

It's hot as balls here, boy.

The heat's giving me nightmares.

I get an ocean breeze through my window that helps me through the day but aside from that, this is too much.

Riding the bus? Fuggedaboutit. I've never sweat more doing less.

We're getting it too 400 miles south in Oregon. Highs hitting up to 105F (~42C) yesterday through Thursday... Glad to have A/C, especially since the lows are hitting only 70F...

Sitting at 37C right now at noon. Yuck.

I go to sin city instead of regular clubs as I can wear next to nothing and stay cool.

No, seriously.

I hide in my basement. I went outside yesterday and got burnt like a chicken. I woke up @ 10:30 this morning, and it was 30 in my house, and 33 outside.

And people laughed @ me when I moved to Vic saying all it does is rain. Where's my rain now dammit?

Lol, almost forgot to add how bizarre it was to get those thunderstorms with all that lightning on Saturday. Sure made for an interesting backdrop for the fireworks at English Bay.

It is stupid out in Victoria right now.

I just got back from the golf course and I was drinking a bottle of water every two holes.

My favorite part of this weather is getting in my black car with black leather seats.

Kelowna has been insane! Around 35 and dry everyday
I'm back in Van for 2 days and the 30 here is actually a relief from Kelowna

It felt so good to be in the rink last night...

...until I was a shift into my game, pouring with sweat, and skating on slush.

I don't even want it to rain anytime soon, when it rained on Saturday night it somehow got like 8 degrees hotter.

Supposed to drop down to low 20's next week according to environment Canada, which is the average high here in the July.

and yes as Hoot mentioned having a black car with leather is an absolute killer, I started my car yesterday afternoon and blasted the AC for 2 minutes before I actually got in.

Yeah, the heat is actually nice as long as you have A.C. But many Canadians don't, so when it gets that hot.. you melt your sack off.

I remember in Las Vegas 2 years ago it was 45ishC, and cooled all the way down to 39C by 3 AM.

33 here going to 37 on Monday and no ocean breeze today, I'm going to jump in the shower pretty soon.
My computer's CPU is running at about 47 C with no load. I took the door off or it'd get higher.
