Default Internet Problem

My PC can't connect to the internet, it says its connected to my router, but when I try to use the internet I get the Address not Found page. I have tried resetting the connection, disabling the network adapter, but nothing works.

I know the internet works, my laptop is connected.

Open up a dos prompt, type "ipconfig" and then tell me what the ip address is.

Goto <Start><Run>cmd<enter>

Then type in ipconfig<enter>

What does it show for your IP address? Should be a 192.168.something.something

So, what you are saying is that you didn't try re-booting.

in the command window type

ping google.ca

Also look on the Shaw/Telus Modem to see if the lights are on. With Shaw all 5 lights should be on with the bottom one blinking franticly.

If its not, power cycle it. Also power cycle your router. Your IP address only tells you that your router is giving you an IP address.

Also remove any proxies if you have any.

It's a program called Active Sky Advanced, it's for FSX.

I did try rebooting that's the weird part. Then I noticed it was running in the Task Manager after a reboot. Killed it and now everything is back to normal.
