Avs Off-Season/Trade Block
Colorado Avalanche GM Pat Faith has been very busy this off-season improving the overall team defense that was missing last season. "We focused on getting players who can play in both ends. To be quite honest our forwards were not focused on playing in our own zone therefore they are not a part of this organization anymore". Since GM Swayze11 took over as GM the team has been a complete overhaul with only 5 CPHL players (2 forwards, 2 defense, 1 goalie) still with the club. GM Swayze11 has been in talks with 2 key UFAs this past week and would be shocked if Simon Gagne and Brad Stuart are not signed by this week. As of right now this team looks like the following:
Gagne* - Boyes - Huselius
Moss - O'Sullivan - Ladd
LW - Kennedy - Clarkson
Nystrom - Mitchell - Sjostrom
Stuart* - Malik
Hnidy - D
Brisebois - D
Huet
*assuming a contract is agreed on.
Obviously our forwards for the most part can play very strong defence but our d-corps needs a lot of work on.
The following players are on the trading block:
-ALL AHL players
-ALL ECHL players (except O'Reilly and Brennan - but open to offers on them)
-Patrick O'Sullivan
-David Clarkson
-All CPHL D-men
-Huet (expecting a CPHL goalie back)
-Open to offers on all players as usual but the above are the main focus.
