I wonder if it follows the game at all...

(though mind you, I don't think I ever finished it... ahahaha)

I'd watch this movie though.

That looks terrible. Jake Gyllenhaal? It almost looks photoshopped! Couldn't they have gotten a real Persian actor?

I'm sorry, this iwill always be the only real Prince of Persia to me.

It's Disney. They're looking for another money making franchise like Pirates of the Caribbean. You're not going to get that with a no-name Persian actor. I'm not a Gyllenhaal fan (don't hate him either) but he'll bring in the ladies to see an action/adventure movie.

Sands of Time was a great game - I really hope they don't butcher it.

They probably waited a year to shoot so he could grow his beard in and look like a tough guy.

theres been a couple shots from the set of him walking around around in costume and i must say, when i first heard he was doing it i wasnt pleased, but when i saw those photos I really thought he fit the part. My only thought is that he might be too big of a guy. I always pictured the Prince as a smaller, ninja style charcter and Gyllenhall is a pretty big guy. Either way I think theyll do a good job. Hes a respectable actor. At least its not like Zack Efron or something

Jake Gyllenhaal? I haven't been a fan of his since Aquaman 2. No one can replace Vinny.

Ben Kingsley and Alfred Molina are also in the cast.

They're really scraping the bottom of the barrel for video game movies now...

Not that there is anything wrong with game, the original was a classic and there were many good titles afterwards, just that I have no idea how they think they can make it into a movie.

Not to mention it's a Disney film, so it's going have a lot of restrictions to keep it's rating in the pg-13 range and keep it family friendly.

Maybe they'll hit it out of the park like they did with 'Pirates'. Probably what they are hoping for the way the poster is done up.

I still stand by my belief that there has NEVER been a movie based on a video game that has come anywhere close to great. A few may get away with a 3 star rating at best, an I know several of you disagree. But I can't stand movies based on games. Leave em as games where they belong. The technology is getting to the point where you can have interactive movies or adventures. Do that instead.

Oh, I guess the one exception to my movie/video game gripe would the the Final Fantasy movie (the first one that was actually in the theaters, with all the animal ghosts). That was pretty cool. But mostly just because of the level of detail in computer graphics that hadn't been seen till that point. The idea was pretty interesting/original too.

Even in liking it though I didn't think it's was 5 star good or anything.

Really? I am under the impression that the Prince of Persia series is one of the best. I really enjoyed the games and think they could probably translate well as a movie.

^^^ Like I said, nothing wrong with the game, just having trouble seeing the translation to the big screen.

Course it's not just video game movies that are being over done. Basically if something isn't a sequel, prequel, remake, re-remake, musical, or graphic novel translation, it doesn't get done in hollywood anymore.

I want to see something new gawd damnit!

That was the first thing that entered my head. That's why I can't watch old movies based around "minority" figures, if the movie was done before like 1980. Why did they always cast white people in minority roles??
