Has anyone had this?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Temporo...joint_disorder

I've had it off and on over the years and it is one of the most irritating, painful things I've ever dealt with...

Any remedies you know of that would help ease the pain?

You can try reflexology or get your dentist to make you a splint for when you are sleeping (it looks kinda like a mouth guard)

There may have been some breakthroughs in dental procedures since I went to dental assisting school...ask your dentist.

Good luck! I know it can be very painful.

I know some chiropractors are able to treat this. My wife has talked about it in the past.

Definately talk to your dentist as well.

I've always been told to avoid putting large items in my mouth.

Actually, my mom has TMJ and I don't think she has found any really good way to handle it.

Some Massage theropists can get in there and do some work on it as well. Find a good RMT that knows how to treat it. Probably wouldn't feel good when they're in there though. If you're in the west side of Calgary I know a good one there.
