Default Car problems, any help? Description inside.

First off the car is a 2006 Chevy Cobalt. Not under full warranty, only powertrain. Now these are the problems/concerns:

- There is a buzzing coming somewhere in the front.
- When accelerating the buzzing will get louder and louder.
- The faster I go the louder the buzzing gets
- It isn't the engine, but it around that area
- Noticed today that it drives itself, like cruise control is on, but it clearly isn't. I was thinking maybe the throttle is getting jammed? But the pedal is fine.

Any help?

The dealership wants $63 or something just to look at it for 1/2 an hour to diagnose. There are a few reasons I came here instead of bring it there, one I am cheap, and two they are thieves, crooks, and they lie straight to my face. I brought my car in twice to get my window fixed and it still isn't fixed properly (they didn't open the door up to actually fix it).

A worn fan belt?

Try a little WD-40 on the actual throttle and rev it manually to get good coverage.

No, my dad drove it as well and he was the one who pointed out the throttle issues. I am nearly positive it isn't the engine as there is no problem in power, and I can from the noise it isn't the engine.

I should also mention I need an alignment badly and new tires.

Go to Auto Value and have them run their diagnostic computer on it. It's free.

That should be covered. If it is covered, you wont have to pay the $63. They are just warning you that if it is not covered, you're on the hook. $63 in the long run is pretty small for car stuff.

Really? That sounds like tremendous value. I wonder how much an alignment would cost from them?

Is this them?

Yup. Partsource will do it, too. They have a little hand held computer with adaptors to connect to any make and model. They plug it in, you start the car, then the computer will tell you if there's anything wrong with any of your sensors or a few other things. It's not necessarily going to diagnose the problem, though. If it's mechanical (like your CV joints) the computer wont say anything. If it's a sensor though, it'll tell you.
Most sensors are pretty easy to do yourself, but I'd strongly recommend googling it first. Cars these days are so full of stuff under the hood it can get tricky to do the job properly.
