It was initially being reported on twitter as a murder suicide, but the link states it was a double homicide.

Steve McNair? Holy sh*t! RIP my friend. I really feel sad about this. I watched McNair play his entire pro career and he was a real solid guy on and off the field (in his interviews). I can't believe this.

I don't know what situations these NFLers keep getting themselves into where they become targets like that.

RIP Steve.

Awful news, McNair was a hell of a player, as tough and talented as they come, RIP to Steve and the woman with him.

Very early but there are both reports of it being a double homicide and a murder/suicide. Also, and this is only a rumour, that McNair murdered an Asian woman then shot himself in the head.

That is what I am thinking, last year the guy from the Red Skins got himself killed (I forget his name), and this year it is McNair.

Last year was Sean Taylor, a group of guys broke into his house thinking no one(noone) was home then shot him in the leg when they saw him, and the year before that Darrent Williams of the Broncos was killed in a drive by the day the season ended on New Years. I'm sure there's been more but those are the two I remember the most.

R.I.P. Steve.

Sean Taylor was killed in a botched robbery, there's nothing to indicate that his football career had anything at all to do with his death, outside of potentially bringing him enough money to make his house worth robbing.

There was a piece on Chris Benoit and the severe concussions he had and the impact it may have had on him going beserk and killing his wife, children and himself. The report also investigated football concussions and their impact in the untimely deaths of ex-pro football players. The tragic lives of three ex-Eskimos who died young were examined.

Premature to say that is what happened here and hopefully it will turn out that McNair and the woman died at someone else's hand, but McNair did have a history of concussions.

Fifth Estate report here:

When I opened the thread the first thing that came to my mind was concusions, hopefully as you said he didn't do this and he was murdered instead of a murder-suicide.
