Prospect Janne Pesonen (RFA who was previously on a 1 M deal)

To Atlanta:

UFA Mike Knuble (77 ov)

Pesonen is a 27 year old prospect who came over from Europe a year ago to play in the Pens minor league system. He had a good AHL year with 82 pts in 70 games. He should do well in the Anaheim CPHL system.

Knuble is a guy we are thrilled to have as he is a top 6 forward and has averaged over 25 goals in the NHL over the last 4 seasons.

really good deal guys. I had interest in Knuble earlier but with the Avs already having 5+ players on grid deals I could not afford it.

Thanks to Neil for the easy deal. We might be forced to waive Pesonen if we need the cap but given his past year in the AHL we will do everything we can to fit him in our CPHL roster even if it is just as a 13th forward.
